Louisiana is one of 30 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and 8 Canadian provinces that regulates the use of the titles Registered or Licensed Interior Designer and/or commercial practice or permitting privileges for Interior Design to protect the health, safety and welfare of the public.

A series of rules and regulations are used by the State Board to legally function and enforce the Statute in a structured way. RULES AND REGULATIONS
LA RS 37: 3651 provides for Occupational Licensing for members of the military, military spouses, and military dependents.
RULE CHANGE REQUEST – LA RS 49:964 (A)(1) provides for an interested person to petition an agency requesting the adoption, amendment, or repeal of a rule.
